Aurora, OH - May 13th, 2026 -Barnes & Noble is very pleased to announce the opening of a new bookstore in Aurora, OH, on Wednesday, May 20th.

The new store will have a Barnes & Noble Café. The bookstore is located next to Old Navy, in the Marketplace at Four Corners (7555 Market Place Dr, Aurora, OH 44202), in the former Party City space. This store is the 7th store to open in Ohio since 2022 and the 2nd of 2026, following the exceptionally successful opening of the Strongsville Barnes & Noble in January.

The Aurora Barnes & Noble bookstore will officially open to the public at 10AM Central on Wednesday the 20th, with local author Dan Chaon cutting the ribbon and signing copies of his thrilling literary horror novel, One of Us.

The new Aurora Barnes & Noble is one of two stores to open on May 20th, joining another in Prosper, TX. Barnes & Noble has opened five stores in as many weeks, with openings in CA, WA, VA, TX, and OH. The company plans to open 60 stores in 2026 and now boasts over 700 bookstores, having been below 600 stores as recently as 2023.

Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will earn double stamps on all purchases made between May 20th and 24th. Customers who are not yet Members are encouraged to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away.

Everyone who visits the new Aurora Barnes & Noble during the grand opening will have access to exclusive deals, like $50 off any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40% on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.

"The wider Cleveland market is an exceptional one for Barnes & Noble," said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. "It is very exciting to follow on the opening in Strongsville earlier this year with another major bookstore, this time to the southeast in Aurora."

Barnes & Noble since 2019 has turned on its head the direction of its bookstores, handing autonomy to its local bookselling teams for how they stock and present their stores. The results have been exceptionally successful and ushered in period of strong growth. The bookseller opened over 60 stores in 2025 and is on track to do the same in 2026. In Ohio alone, the Aurora store will be the 7th new store to open in the state, reversing more than 15 years of declining store numbers.

Area Manager Michael Durant is excited to have another new store opening in Northeast Ohio and said, "This is a growing market and we're so pleased to have another new store in the greater Cleveland area. The Booksellers can't wait to welcome shoppers in their community to the beautiful new store."
