CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 22, 2026) - Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced she has helped secure $5,248,750 in federal public safety funding secured for the Lowcountry since 2024, delivering the tools and resources law enforcement agencies and first responders across the First District need to keep our communities safe.
"South Carolina is strong because we have strong law enforcement," said Congresswoman Mace. "Our officers run toward danger so the rest of us do not have to. The least we can do is make sure they have the tools, the personnel, and the resources to do their jobs safely and protect our communities. When our local law enforcement agencies need support, we will always be there to deliver it."
Since 2024, Rep. Mace has helped secure the following grants for Lowcountry law enforcement and first responders:
Public safety has been a cornerstone of Rep. Mace's work in the First District. She has consistently secured federal resources for Lowcountry law enforcement, exposed a sanctuary sheriff releasing violent illegal immigrants into our communities, and sounded the alarm after the state dropped 93% of pedophile cases in Dorchester County between 2019 and 2022.
Rep. Mace will never stop working to put resources in the hands of local law enforcement and keep South Carolina communities safe.
