On 3 - 4 February 2026, OLAF experts delivered a two-day training course in Athens for 100 financial analysts and investigators from the Directorate Αgainst Organised Crime. The training focused on the processing and analysis of large volumes of financial data and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), while also introducing the basic principles of an OLAF investigation, including the effective use of analytical elements in investigative work.
The course aimed to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Greek authorities in the prevention and investigation of financial crimes, including offences affecting the financial interests of the European Union and the Hellenic Republic. Participants received hands-on training in the use of modern analytical tools, recommended investigative procedures and advanced methodologies for analysing banking transactions and information from open sources.
Delivered in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions with remote participation, the training reinforced cooperation between OLAF and national authorities and highlighted the importance of continuous capacity-building and digital expertise in tackling complex financial crime.
