John James Faces Bipartisan Criticism, Ethics Complaint Over Using Taxpayer-Funded Resources to Promote His Campaign
After reporting from MIRS News revealed that John James appeared to have directed taxpayer-funded resources to be used for his campaign, James is now facing bipartisan criticism and an ethics complaint alleging he used federal government resources to promote his campaign.
Prominent Michigan Republican political operative John Truscott, who was an aide to former Michigan Gov. John Engler and CEO at the prominent Michigan consulting firm Truscott Rossman, slammed James' actions for being "just beyond stupidity," and saying "they've basically taken a gun and pointed at their own head with this kind of thing."
"Even prominent Michigan Republicans are calling out John James after he got caught using taxpayer-funded resources to promote his own campaign," said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. "This just makes it more clear that James is putting his own extreme and self-serving agenda first - while voting to slash health care and raise costs for working families."
