SALEM, S.D. - On Monday, April 7, 2025, median crossover construction will begin on Interstate 90 at exit 357 south of Salem. Grading work and asphalt surfacing will be completed in the median to construct the new crossover. Lane closures will be in place for eastbound and westbound traffic on I-90 during the crossover construction. Speed limits will be reduced to 65 mph.
The project on I-90 consists of spot grading, new concrete pavement, pipe replacement, and box culvert construction in the eastbound and westbound lanes. Motorists are reminded to use caution and reduce their speed while workers and equipment are present.
The prime contractor for this $11.1 million project is T&R Contracting Inc., of Sioux Falls, SD. The overall project completion date is June 2026.
