State Representative Doreen Carter to Host Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper for Community Conversation in House District 93 Tomorrow

ATLANTA - State Representative Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia) will host Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper for a community conversation highlighting agriculture as Georgia's number one industry. The event, Rooted in Georgia: Growing the Future of Agriculture, will take place TOMORROW, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at Global Growers Network in Conyers, Georgia.

"Georgia's agricultural industry touches every part of our lives-from the food on our tables to the strength of our economy," said Rep. Carter. "This conversation is about ensuring our policies, partnerships and investments continue to support farmers, create jobs and grow opportunity right here in House District 93."

This event seeks to bring together state leadership, local growers, community partners and residents to discuss how Georgia can continue to strengthen its agricultural sector while expanding opportunity at the local level.

"Agriculture is the backbone of Georgia's economy, but even more than that, it is a way of life for millions of rural Georgians, and it is the bridge that connects urban and rural Georgia together," said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper. "At GDA, we are committed to supporting all Georgia farmers regardless of where they grow, what they grow or how they grow it, and I look forward to working with leaders in the General Assembly and in communities across the state to ensure we have policies in place at the state level that will allow the continued success of our state's #1 industry."

Commissioner Harper will share insights on statewide agricultural priorities, farmer support programs, workforce development, innovation and sustainability. The conversation will also highlight the role of community-based organizations like Global Growers Network in its work to support local and immigrant farmers, as well as strengthen food systems.

The event will include remarks, a guided discussion and an interactive question-and-answer session with attendees. This event is free and open to the public, and community members, farmers, small business owners and stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
