At about 9:17 a.m. on Jan. 14, Columbia Police responded to a shots fired call at the 3300 block of Parker Street.
The investigation revealed that Travis Peterson, 44, of Columbia, was involved in a domestic disturbance and had shot a firearm. The shot did not strike anyone. Peterson then entered a residence and barricaded himself. After an hours-long standoff, Peterson exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident or injury.
Peterson was charged with domestic assault in the first degree, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, harassment in the first degree and resisting arrest.
