During the 2026 plan year open enrollment period that ended Jan. 15, 2026, 192,811 (6.5 percent) Kansans selected or were automatically re-enrolled in a health insurance plan through the federally facilitated marketplace - a decrease of 7,235 (3.6 percent) compared to last year's record-high enrollment (200,046). A total of 11,138 Kansans selected a standalone dental insurance plan for the 2026 plan year through the marketplace - also a decrease from the previous year.
On March 27, 2026, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released summary enrollment data for the 13th open enrollment period of the federally facilitated health insurance marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act. The open enrollment period lasted from Nov. 1, 2025, to Jan. 15, 2026. Enrollee data report the count of unique consumers who selected or were automatically re-enrolled into a 2026 marketplace health plan (regardless of whether the consumer paid the premium). Data about those who paid their first premium and continue to be enrolled are not yet available.
