A Lancashire Constabulary officer is due to appear in court charged with misconduct in a public office and participating in the criminal activities of a serious organised crime group, following an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) directed investigation.
PC Hakeem Mahmood, 30, who was investigated by Lancashire Constabulary's Anti-Corruption Unit, under our direction and control, will appear at Burnley Crown Court on Friday 14 August.
Mahmood is alleged to have conspired with others to supply Class A drugs and participated in the criminal activities of an organised crime group by providing unauthorised disclosure of police information to known associates since he joined the force in October 2022.
On conclusion of the investigation in June 2026, the case was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service, who authorised the charges. He was arrested on 24 June 2026.
