Republic of Korea Formalizes Its Strategic Partnership Program Primer with the APO

On 18 December 2025, APO Director for the Republic of Korea (ROK) Dr. Park Sungjoong formalized the ROK's Strategic Partnership Program (SPP) with APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata through the signing of the ROK's SPP Primer during a visit to the APO Secretariat. This marks an important step in strengthening the structured collaboration between the ROK and the APO as the organization moves forward into the APO Vision 2030.

Under the APO Vision 2030, the SPP serves as a unified results framework and the primary mechanism through which APO member economies align APO-supported initiatives with their national productivity priorities. By formalizing its SPP Primer, the ROK has established a clear framework for results-oriented and strategic cooperation with the APO.

Over the next three years, the APO will work closely with the ROK to implement the SPP, which centers on digital transformation and artificial intelligence, providing support through targeted technical cooperation, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and capacity-building activities that are aligned with Vision 2030.
