Council Takes First Step Toward Building Region’s First AI and Robotics Ecosystem

The Rancho Cordova City Council has taken the first step toward building the region's first AI and Robotics Ecosystem, a multi-year initiative that will be developed over the next two years.

The Ecosystem will bring together innovation, education, and infrastructure through partnerships with organizations such as the Human Machine Collaboration Institute (HMCI), NVIDIA, Solidigm, FarmGPU, and SMUD. By aligning workforce training, advanced infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment, the Ecosystem is being designed to position Rancho Cordova as a regional hub for growth in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and research and development sectors.

"Rancho Cordova is proud to be a leader in shaping the future of work and innovation," says Rancho Cordova Mayor Siri Pulipati. "By partnering with NVIDIA and HMCI, we are opening doors to new opportunities for our residents, ensuring our community is not only ready for the jobs of tomorrow but also leading in creating them."

Once developed, the Ecosystem is intended to drive economic growth while helping residents and businesses adapt to emerging industries. It aims to attract new technology companies and high-paying jobs that will revitalize our office park, while also expanding opportunities for local businesses, students and workers through training, internships, apprenticeships, and community workshops.

For businesses, the Ecosystem is expected to provide access to AI tools, skilled talent pipeline, and infrastructure from partners like Solidigm and FarmGPU, supported by the City's streamlined permitting and licensing process. For residents, it will open pathways to careers in high-demand fields through NVIDIA-certified training and workforce development programs.

Anchored by global and regional leaders in technology, energy, and workforce development, the Ecosystem reflects Rancho Cordova's commitment to fostering innovation and preparing the community for the jobs of the future.
