LOS ANGELES (December 24, 2025) - As of 11 A.M., LADWP's power system continues to operate normally, with field crews working to restore power to affected customers as quickly and safely as possible.
The safety of our customers and our crews remain our highest priority.
LADWP reminds the public to NEVER TOUCH A DOWNED or DANGLING WIRE or ANYONE OR ANYTHING in contact with it. Always assume a downed wire is still energized with high voltage electricity. Stay away and immediately CALL 9-1-1.
As of 11 a.m. today, approximately 10,700of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power's (LADWP) 1.5 million electric customers are experiencing neighborhood power outages as a result of the atmospheric river passing over the Los Angeles area.
Current power outages are primarily the result of the several inches of rainfall and fallen palm fronds and other debris coming in contact with power lines and equipment. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the San Fernando Valley and northern areas of the city, and an elevated flood advisory for the remainder of the city until 4:00 PM today.
