Wright County Magistrate Appointing Commission seeks candidates for judicial role

The Wright County Magistrate Appointing Commission will convene on May 2 to appoint a new judicial magistrate for a term running from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2029. Candidates must be either residents of Wright County or a neighboring county at the time of appointment. Additionally, applicants must be licensed attorneys in Iowa, except for those who have held office as magistrates since April 1, 2009. Age restrictions apply; applicants cannot be appointed if they have reached age 72 at the time of selection.

Qualified individuals interested in applying must submit a certified application form, along with a letter of interest and a resume of qualifications by Thursday, April 17. These materials should be emailed to Judge Jennifer A. Miller, Chair of the Magistrate Appointing Commission, at jennifer.a.miller@iowacourts.gov.

Applications can be obtained from the Clerk of District Court's office during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
