Illinois 18 Henry bridge inspection begins March 30

HENRY - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a routine inspection of the Illinois 18 bridge over the Illinois River at Henry begins March 30.

The inspection will reduce the bridge to one lane, with traffic controlled by flaggers during the day when workers are present, for four to five days, weather permitting.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
