New York Fed to Host Event on Creating and Improving Markets Investing in Under-Resourced Communities

October 25, 2024

NEW YORK-The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host "Intermediating Impact: Making Missing Markets" on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The in-person event will focus on examples of promising investments in the health, climate resilience, and household financial well-being of under-resourced communities. Speakers include John C. Williams, president and CEO of the New York Fed; Deval Patrick, former governor of Massachusetts; and Kathryn Wylde, president and CEO of the Partnership for New York City.

Speakers will highlight strategies that connect new sources of capital to community needs; scale existing sources of capital for communities; and connect previously unlinked buyers and sellers. Please see the event page for further details and the latest agenda.

The event is part of the New York Fed's Community Development efforts, which have three areas of focus: health, household financial well-being, and climate risk.

This event is on the record and open to media, though space is limited. To register, please contact Ellen Simon at the New York Fed at [email protected].
