Seven from Sunday - Week 2

NEW YORK -- Sept. 20, 2026 -- A look at seven statistical highlights from games played during the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET windows on Sunday, September 20, the second week of the 2026 season.

• With two games remaining in Week 2, 23 teams have at least one win this season, including seven teams that are 2-0: Buffalo, Cincinnati and Las Vegas in the AFC and Minnesota, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle in the NFC. Kansas City (1-0) hosts Indianapolis (0-1) on Sunday Night Football while the New York Giants (1-0) visit the Los Angeles Rams (0-1) on Monday Night Football to conclude Week 2.
  
  The Raiders are the first team in 12 seasons, since the 2014 Houston Texans, to begin 2-0 the season after winning three-or-fewer games the year prior.
  
  With two games remaining in Week 2, seven games have been within one score (eight points) in the fourth quarter and six games have been decided by eight-or-fewer points.
  
  Four teams - Cleveland, Green Bay, New Orleans and Philadelphia - recorded the game-winning score in the final four minutes of the fourth quarter or in overtime while three teams - Denver, Green Bay and New Orleans - overcame 10-point second-half deficits to win.
  
  Green Bay defeated the New York Jets, 20-17, in overtime and for the fifth time in the past six seasons, there has been an overtime game in each of the first two weeks.

• San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy completed 20 of 22 pass attempts (90.9 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns for a 149.1 rating and added a rushing touchdown while running back Christian McCaffrey rushed for two touchdowns in the 49ers' 35-13 win against Miami.
  
  Purdy is the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his pass attempts, pass for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns and have a rushing touchdown in the same game.
  
  Purdy has eight career games with a passer rating of 140-or-higher, surpassing Ben Roethlisberger (seven games) and Pro Football Hall of Famers Roger Staubach (seven) and Kurt Warner (seven) for the most such games by player in his first five seasons in NFL history (minimum of 10 pass attempts in each game).
  
  Purdy has 13 career games with a passer rating of 130-or-higher, surpassing Russell Wilson (12 games) for the most such games by player in his first five seasons in NFL history (minimum of 10 pass attempts in each game).
  
  McCaffrey reached 100 career scrimmage touchdowns in his 114th career game and surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice (115 games) as the fourth-fastest player to reach 100 scrimmage touchdowns in the Super Bowl era. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers LaDainian Tomlinson (89 games) and Emmitt Smith (93) as well as Shaun Alexander (96) reached the mark in fewer games.
  
  McCaffrey, who has 50 scrimmage touchdowns (32 rushing, 18 receiving) with San Francisco and 50 scrimmage touchdowns (32 rushing, 18 receiving) with Carolina, is the third player in NFL history to record 50 scrimmage touchdowns with multiple teams, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk (85 scrimmage touchdowns with the St. Louis Rams and 51 with Indianapolis) and Randy Moss (92 with Minnesota and 50 with New England).
  
  The 49ers are the first team in NFL history to have six different players age 30 or older score a scrimmage touchdown over the first two weeks of a season - Mike Evans, Kyle Jusczcyk, George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, Demarcus Robinson and Deebo Samuel.
  
  
• Cincinnati wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase had seven receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals' 20-6 win at Houston.
  
  Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow, who is 29 years old, and Chase, who is 26 years old, have connected for 50 touchdowns, one of four duos in NFL history to reach 50 touchdown passes by a quarterback and receiver both under the age of 30, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino and Mark Clayton (65 touchdowns), John Hadl and Pro Football Hall of Famer Lance Alworth (53) and Daunte Culpepper and Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss (53).
  
  Per Next Gen Stats, Burrow completed all three of his deep passes (at least 20 air yards) to Chase for 73 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2 against the Texans. Burrow and Chase have connected for 20 touchdowns on deep passes since Chase was drafted in 2021, the most by a quarterback-wide receiver duo in that span.

  Chase has 56 touchdown receptions in his career, tied with Dez Bryant (56 touchdown receptions) for the fourth-most touchdown receptions by a player under the age of 27 in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers Randy Moss (77 touchdown receptions) and Larry Fitzgerald (59) as well as Rob Gronkowski (65) have more.
  
  Chase has 14 games with multiple touchdown receptions, tied Rob Gronkowski (14 games) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice (14) for the second-most games with multiple touchdown receptions by a player under the age of 27 in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss (17 games) has more.
  
  Chase has 529 receptions in 80 career games, surpassing Amon-Ra St. Brown (524 receptions) for the second-most receptions by a player in their first 80 career games in NFL history, trailing only Michael Thomas (560).
  
  
• Carolina quarterback Bryce Young passed for 287 yards and three touchdowns for a 116.3 rating while linebacker Devin Lloyd had nine tackles, three passes defensed, two tackles for loss, and two interceptions, including a 16-yard interception returned for a touchdown in the Panthers' 34-3 win at Atlanta.
  
  For the first time in franchise history, Carolina has scored at least 30 points in each of their first two games of a season.
  
  Young, who passed for 361 yards and three touchdowns for a 110.3 rating in Week 1, is the second quarterback ever under the age of 26 with at least 285 passing yards, three touchdown passes and a passer rating of 110-or-higher in each of his team's first two games of a season, joining Kyler Murray (2021 with Arizona).
  
  Lloyd is the fifth linebacker with a sack and two interceptions, including an interception returned for a touchdown, in a game since 1982, when the individual sack became an official statistic, joining Zach Brown (Dec. 30, 2012, with Tennessee), Karlos Dansby (Sept. 11, 2005, with Arizona), Robert Jones (Dec. 6., 1998, with Miami) and James Francis (Dec. 15, 1996, and Nov. 22, 1992, with Cincinnati).
  
  
• Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott passed for 279 yards and four touchdowns for a 143.8 rating in the Cowboys' 37-20 win over Washington.
  
  Prescott has 249 career touchdown passes and surpassed Tony Romo (248) for the most touchdown passes in franchise history.
  
  Prescott has 13 career games with at least four touchdown passes and a passer rating of 120-or-higher, tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning (13 games) and Russell Wilson (13) for the second-most such games by a player in his first 11 seasons in NFL history. Only Patrick Mahomes (15 games, in 10th season) has more.
  
  Prescott has won 20 consecutive home starts against NFC East opponents, tied with Tom Brady (20 consecutive wins against the AFC East from 2007-14 with New England) for the most consecutive home wins by a starting quarterback against their own division since 1970.
  
  
• Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love passed for two touchdowns with no interceptions in the Packers' 20-17 overtime win at the New York Jets.
  
  Love, who started his 50th career game today, has 19 career starts with multiple touchdown passes and no interceptions, surpassing Russell Wilson (18 starts) for the second-most such starts by a quarterback in his first 50 career starts. Only Patrick Mahomes (22 starts) had more.
  
  
• Seattle wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba had nine receptions for 155 yards and three touchdowns in the Seahawks' 31-7 win over Arizona.
  
  Smith-Njigba, who had eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, is the fifth wide receiver ever with at least eight catches, 120 receiving yards and a touchdown reception in each of his team's first two games of a season, joining Stefon Diggs (2022 with Buffalo), Antonio Brown (2015 with Pittsburgh), Charley Hennigan (1962 with the Houston Oilers) and Andre Rison (1994 with Atlanta).

  • Las Vegas quarterback Kirk Cousins passed for 253 yards and three touchdowns for a 113.1 rating in the Raiders' 26-14 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
    
    Cousins, who is 38 years old and had three touchdowns in Week 1, became the third quarterback age 38-or-older with at least three touchdown passes in each of his team's first two games of a season in NFL history, joining Tom Brady (2015 with New England and 2021 with Tampa Bay) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning (2014 with Denver).
    
    
  • Minnesota wide receiver Justin Jefferson had 55 receiving yards in the Vikings' 9-3 win at Chicago.
    
    Jefferson, who is 27 years old and has 8,627 career receiving yards, surpassed DeAndre Hopkins (8,602 receiving yards) for the second-most receiving yards by a player under the age of 28 in NFL history, trailing only Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss (9,142).
    
    
  • Arizona tight end Trey McBride had eight catches for 41 yards and a touchdown against Seattle.
    
    McBride, who had nine receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, is the fifth tight end in NFL history with at least eight receptions in each of his team's first two games of a season, joining T.J. Hockenson (2021 with Detroit), Mark Andrews (2019 with Baltimore), Jimmy Graham (2014 with New Orleans) and Ben Coates (1994 with New England).
