City of MPK to Host Candlelight Vigil for the Two-Year Remembrance of Jan. 21, 2023 Mass Shooting
The City of Monterey Park invites all community members to join together in remembrance and unity as we honor the memory of the victims of the January 21 shooting and stand together against violence.

The Vigil will feature reflections from community leaders and will include organizations involved in healing efforts. Attendees are invited to bring flowers or memorial items to place near the flagpoles in front of City Hall. Please note that these items will be respectfully removed after January 30.
The City of Monterey Park will also convene a private Roundtable on Hope and Healing earlier in the day, bringing together invited community leaders and advocates to discuss strategies for fostering resilience and support within our community and preventing similar tragedies in the future. Please note that attendance at the Roundtable event is by invitation only.
For those who may need emotional or mental health support, the MPK Hope Resiliency Center located at 855 S Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park, CA 91754, offers a range of services, including counseling, support groups, and educational programs tailored to those affected by the January 21 tragedy. MPK Hope is supported by a collaborative effort of several organizations led by Chinatown Service Center and working together to provide compassionate support and help to the community on the path to healing.
