CHANDLER, Ariz. - OD Harris and Christine Ellis were sworn in for their second four-year terms on the Chandler City Council, while Jennifer Hawkins was sworn in to begin her four-year term as the newest councilmember.

OD Harris and Christine Ellis begin their second term on the City Council to serve through January 2029. Both have served on the City Council since January 2021 and Harris served as vice mayor in 2024.

Councilmember Jennifer Hawkins begins her first term on the City Council to serve through January 2029. This is her first time serving in an elected office.

The installation marks the first time in Chandler's history that three women will serve on the City Council at the same time. A total of 15 women have served on the Council dating back to 1956.

The rest of the City Council consists of Mayor Kevin Hartke and Councilmembers Matt Orlando, Jane Poston and Angel Encinas, whose terms continue through January 2027.

After the installation ceremony, the City Council held a special meeting to elect a new vice mayor. Christine Ellis was selected to serve in this role through Jan. 8, 2026.
