Malaysia Convenes the AEC Council Ahead of the 47th ASEAN Summit
Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Economic Community, H.E. Satvinder Singh attended the 26th AEC Council Meeting on 24 October 2025. Chaired by H.E. Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, the AEC Council met ahead of the 47th ASEAN Summit. The Council exchanged views on the current economic performance and outlook for the region. The Ministers also discussed the overall performance and implementation of the AEC Blueprint 2025. Looking ahead, they reflected and discussed the recommendations and actionable measures to effectively implement the AEC Strategic Plan 2026-2030. The Council also emphasised advancing cross-sectoral priorities, including sustainability and digitalisation, to ensure a resilient and future-ready ASEAN.
