Brock Hochanadel, a senior studying environmental sciences, discusses his research poster with his parents, Steve and Danielle Hochanadel, last month during the Office of Undergraduate Research's Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Exhibition at Carlson Library. Hochanadel was awarded first place at the annual exhibition, which showcases research and creative activity projects by undergraduate students during the past year.
For the 2024 exhibit, more than 80 student-created posters and creative projects representing various academic colleges were on display.
Winners:
First place: Brock Hochanadel, a senior studying environmental sciences.
Second place: Victoria Ho, a sophomore studying chemistry and biochemistry.
Third place: Sydney Mockensturm, a junior studying psychology.
Honorable mentions: Shalika Sangras, a senior studying biological sciences, and Shreya Gupta, a junior studying biological sciences.
Dorothy Price Award for creativity and innovation: Ladi'anna Ritsema, a senior studying art.
Honorable mention: Liam Ginter, a senior studying art.
In addition to the student awards, Dr. Andrew Geers, a professor of psychology in the College of Arts and Letters, was awarded the 2024 Outstanding Mentor of the Year award.
