RESCHEDULED: Washington County Route W to close June 8

JEFFERSON CITY , M o - The planned closure the Washington County Route W bridge over Ashley Branch has been rescheduled to begin Monday, June 8.

Crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close the bridge to all traffic beginning June 8 , and it will remain closed around-the-clock through the end of July. During the closure, motorists must u se an alternate route s .

Built in 1963, the supporting structures are in good condition , but the driving surface is nearing the end of its useful life and is in need of replacement . The new driv ing surface will be 2 4 feet wide, t he same as the current structure .
