  • WHAT: Governor-elect Matt Meyer and Lt. Governor-elect Gay will take the formal oath of office at the William B. DeLauder Education and Humanities Theatre at Delaware State University in Dover. State legislators, elected officials, and dignitaries from across the nation will attend the ceremony, which will be open to the public and live-streamed across various platforms for all Delawareans to watch. The event is open to the public, but tickets must be reserved in advance.

It will feature a special musical performance, speeches from notable figures, and an opportunity to reflect on the progress Delaware has made while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities in the years to come under the leadership of Governor-elect Meyer. ABOUT THE TEMPTATIONS AND THE FOUR TOPS

The Four Tops made their first single in 1956, and spent seven years on the road and in nightclubs, singing pop, blues, Broadway, but mostly jazz-four-part harmony jazz. Their first Motown hit, "Baby I Need Your Loving" in 1964, made them stars and their sixties track record on the label is indispensable to any retrospective of the decade. Their songs, soulful and bittersweet, were across-the-board successes that have withstood the test of time. The group continues to be a hit in concert and tours regularly, a towering testament to the enduring legacy of the Motown Sound they helped shape and define. The Temptations, often referred to as American music royalty, are revered for their phenomenal catalog of music and prolific career. While the group has evolved over the years, Dr. Otis Williams has continued to lead the group and carry the torch forward for the next generation of Temptations' fans. The Temptations are headlining concerts around the country throughout 2025. Their concerts include fan favorites such as "My Girl," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone," and more.

Ranked #1 in Billboard magazine's most recent list of the "Greatest R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of All Time." The Temptations have been the subject of a smash hit Broadway musical, Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, based on Otis Williams' personal journey, which opened on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre in 2019. The Temptations' heritage, influence, and contributions to, not only American culture and African American communities but also to the global music landscape are monumental.

ABOUT THE URBAN ARTS ORCHESTRA

Detroit's own Urban Art Orchestra is conducted by 3x Grammy nominated and 3x NAACP Image award-winning composer De'Sean Jones. Urban Art Orchestra presents an excitingly fresh & immersive experience, fusing classical and popular music in ways that bring people together from all walks of life. Over the past two years UAO has grown into a 150 piece ensemble with an additional 50 piece choir known for compelling musical collaborations with a wide range of artists. UAO's most notable collaborators feature the likes of Amp Fiddler, T-Pain, and Big Sean, Amazon Music and Ford Motor Company. ABOUT THE ROCK ORCHESTRA

The Rock Orchestra is the Delaware Valley's premier tribute group. Its goal is to present recreations of studio recordings by classic artists live on stage - either performing career retrospectives, or a series of complete albums performed live. Utilizing an incredible talent pool of local musicians and priding itself on note-for-note recreations of selected works by various artists in the rock realm TRO provides a live experience like no other.

TRO was formed in 2017 by Joe Trainor and Matt Urban. Since then they've mounted productions tributing Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, The Who, R.E.M., Genesis, INXS, Jethro Tull, Elton John and Tom Petty. The Rock Orchestra presents their shows at the beautiful Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware, and travel some productions to other area venues.

Every summer, TRO presents All Together Now (formerly BeatleFest) where they perform ALL 215 songs by The Beatles live on stage over multiple nights. Like all of their productions they utilize strings, horns and world instruments where necessary to recreate these amazing works as authentically as possible.

Governor-elect Matt Meyer is a former public school math teacher and small business owner who served as New Castle County Executive from 2017 to 2025. Matt subsequently spent 12 months in Mosul, Iraq, as a diplomat embedded with the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
