Governor Ron DeSantis Makes Five Judicial Appointments

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announces five judicial appointments.

Jeremiah Hawkes, of Tallahassee, to serve as Judge on the Second Judicial Circuit Court

Hawkes has worked as a Senior Counsel for Bass, Sox, & Mercer since 2022. Previously, he served as the General Counsel for the Florida Senate. He earned both his bachelor's degree and his juris doctor from Florida State University. Hawkes fills the judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.

Carlos Rey, of Tallahassee, to serve as Judge on the Leon County Court

Rey has served the Florida Senate as the General Counsel since 2023 and a Senior Attorney since 2020. Previously, he served as an Assistant General Counsel for the Florida Department of State. He earned both his bachelor's degree and his juris doctor from Florida State University. Rey fills the judicial vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Jones.

Judge Cristina Correa, of Coral Gables, to serve as Judge on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court

Judge Correa has served as a County Court Judge for the Miami-Dade County Court since 2020. Previously, she served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and her juris doctor from Florida International University. Judge Correa fills a judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.

Jose Rohaidy, of Miami, to serve as Judge on the Miami-Dade County Court

Rohaidy has served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit since 2019. Previously, he was an Associate for Zumpano Patricios, P.A. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from St. Thomas University. Rohaidy fills a judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.

Jennifer Levin, of Miami, to serve as Judge on the Miami-Dade County Court

Levin has been a partner at Stone, Glass & Connolly, L.L.P since 2024. Previously, she was an Associate at Martinez Morales Law. She earned her bachelor's degree from Florida State University and her juris doctor from Florida International University. Levin fills a judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.
