USCIB Launches Codex and Food Safety Working Group

USCIB is launching a new Codex and Food Safety Working Group to support member engagement on international food standards, food safety policy, and related regulatory developments.

Working group priorities:

  • Provide timely intelligence and insights on Codex, food safety, and related international policy developments.
  • Help members assess regulatory and business implications of emerging issues and international standards.
  • Advance coordinated business advocacy through engagement with government officials and relevant international stakeholders.
  • Strengthen collective business engagement by connecting members around shared priorities and expertise.
  • Link Codex discussions to the broader international policy landscape, including relevant developments at FAO and WHO.

As the US affiliate of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), USCIB coordinates US business engagement in ICC's global policy work. Through ICC's observer status at Codex Alimentarius, USCIB provides a platform for US business input and engagement on international food standards and food safety developments. USCIB serves as the focal point for US business engagement on Codex matters and is responsible for coordinating input and participation associated with ICC's observer seat.

USCIB members interested in joining this workstream are encouraged to reach out to Natalie Bidner-Swehla, Director, International Agriculture at USCIB, at [email protected].
