Texas Lutheran University is honored once again this year to receive the Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention, presented by Vector Solutions. The seal is awarded to institutions of higher education that demonstrate leadership in student safety and well-being.
TLU is among only twelve percent of institutions nationwide to have met the criteria to earn the seal this year, highlighting the university's ongoing prioritization of creating a safer campus through comprehensive prevention education on issues such as sexual assault, alcohol and drug misuse, and mental health.
"I truly believe when students feel safe and supported, it makes a huge impact on their lives both inside and outside of the classroom," said Associate Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Malikah Pitts Harvey. "I am glad that our students take the time to complete the Alcohol Awareness and Sexual Assault Prevention trainings during their first semester at TLU so they are aware of what resources are available to them. We never want our students (or someone they know) to suffer in silence."
In addition to the online training modules completed by all incoming students, TLU conducts in-person training sessions for student leaders, delivers presentations to various departments, collaborates with community agencies, and organizes campus events centered around sexual violence prevention efforts.
"The CPN Seal of Prevention recipients represent the top institutions nationwide, underscoring their commitment to academic excellence and the well-being of their students," said Jonathan Cherins, CEO at Vector Solutions.
