Berlin-Global law firm Dentons is expanding its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Germany with the arrival of a renowned team led by partners Dr. Roman Dörfler and Dr. Martin Beckmann. They joined Dentons' Berlin office on May 1, 2026 from PwC Legal, along with the two counsels Jakob Frank and Steffen Kamprolf, senior associate Dr. Saskia Naomi Merle and associates Martin Geus and Peter Schwab.
The new team significantly increases Dentons' clout and capacity in litigation. They bring deep experience in corporate and insolvency-related disputes, model declaratory actions and class actions-particularly in the areas of banking and capital markets law-as well as supply chain compliance, advisor liability, and director and officer liability.
Dr. Matthias Hadding, Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Germany, commented: "Roman Dörfler and Martin Beckmannare highly experienced litigators who have been setting the standard in complex proceedings-particularly in financial disputes, class actions, and collective litigation-for many years. Their experience in strategic litigation and collective legal protection ideally complements our existing team."
Roman Dörfler has more than 20 years' experience handling complex national and international disputes before state courts and arbitral tribunals. He focuses on corporate and commercial disputes as well as banking and capital markets law and is well known for representing financial institutions in mass, class, and landmark proceedings.
Martin Beckmann has been practicing law since 2005 and represents clients in complex national and international disputes before state courts, in arbitration proceedings, and in out-of-court dispute resolution. His practice focuses on financial, corporate, and insolvency disputes. His expertise in contract and liability law includes, among other things, post-M&A conflicts, advisor liability, and director and officer liability.
Dr. Rebekka Hye-Knudsen, Co-Managing Partner Germany, said: "Building strong Litigation and Dispute Resolution capabilities is a central component of our growth strategy in Germany. The new team complements our existing services and will strengthen our firm in the long term."
Dr. Matthias Santelmann, Co-Managing Partner for Germany, added: "Increasing regulation, new instruments of collective legal protection, and increasingly complex commercial disputes: these are the realities our clients face. With the addition of Roman Dörfler, Martin Beckmann and their team, we will be able to provide our clients with comprehensive support in major cross-border disputes, while strengthening our market position in litigation."
Roman Dörfler on the move: "With its global platform, Dentons offers excellent opportunities to handle complex disputes with an international dimension from a single source. The German practice's use of technology and close collaboration with other practice groups and offices will provide ideal conditions for the further development of our practice."
Martin Beckmann added: "Dentons has the right structure and culture, as well as unrivaled global reach, to support clients in national and cross-border disputes. The Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice is part of the Firm's full-service offering and represents a specialized yet interdisciplinary approach. Our team looks forward to working with our new colleagues to further establish Dentons as the premier choice for sophisticated commercial dispute resolution."
With the addition of the Berlin team, Dentons is continuing the growth of its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, which comprises more than 20 lawyers in Germany and more than 1,300 worldwide. In December 2025, Sebastian Wülbeck joined the Dusseldorf office as a partner.
