The Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission has received an application to rezone one (1) parcel totaling .57 acres, from Residential Infill (R-I), to Town Center (T-C). The parcel is located at the corner of Bryan St. & Gaskin Ave. The applicant wishes to rezone to T-C to allow for such businesses permitted in the district, such as a Religious Facility, a Restaurant or a Performing Arts Theater.
The Planning Commission will have their regular meeting regarding this request on August 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., at City Hall, located at 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533. The outcome of the Planning Commission's recommendation(s) will go before the Mayor & City Commission.
The Mayor & City Commission will hold the first (1st) reading for this request on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. and the second (2nd) reading and public hearing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 6:00 pm. All meetings will be held at City Hall, 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533.
A copy of the rezoning application may be reviewed at the City of Douglas Community Development Department, Planning & Zoning Division, 302 S Madison Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Holiday hours may differ. This viewing may take place until August 25, 2025, 5 p.m.
