Emergency Lane Closures Scheduled for Northbound I-75 Near Mt. Zion Road (Exit 231) in Clayton County

Motorists planning on traveling the Interstate 75 corridor toward the Atlanta metro area region are advised that Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close all but one lane on I-75 Northbound near Mt. Zion Road (exit 231) in Clayton County beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, through Sunday evening, Oct. 26, to conduct emergency roadway repairs.

One lane will remain open to traffic in the affected area; however, heavy congestion and significant delays are expected. Georgia DOT urges motorists to follow posted signage and to seek alternative routes including utilizing I-675.

This emergency work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change as conditions dictate. Motorists are advised to expect significant delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through the work zone during the project work hours.
