Dentons advises Aldar on AED 5 billion sustainability-linked revolving credit facility

April 30, 2026

Abu Dhabi-Dentons, the world's largest global law firm, has advised Aldar Properties PJSC (Aldar) on the successful closing of an AED 5 billion (US$1.36 billion) five-year syndicated sustainability-linked revolving credit facility (RCF).

The transaction attracted participation from 10 major UAE, regional and international financial institutions, reflecting strong confidence in Aldar's credit strength, resilient business model, and the UAE's economic and real estate fundamentals. The facility further enhances Aldar's liquidity position, bringing its total available liquidity to AED 38.2 billion.

The senior unsecured committed multi-tranche facility is structured as a five-year revolving credit facility with both conventional and Islamic tranches across AED and USD currencies. It incorporates sustainability-linked key performance indicators (KPIs), reinforcing Aldar's commitment to ESG targets and responsible business practices, and marks Aldar's second sustainability-linked syndicated RCF following its landmark AED 9 billion facility completed in January 2025.

The syndication brought together a group of leading financial institutions, including Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade (Al Masraf), Commercial Bank of Dubai, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Islamic, Emirates NBD Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

Stephen Knight, Head of Middle East Banking and Finance, commented: "This transaction highlights the continued evolution of sustainability-linked financing in the region and underscores the depth of liquidity available to leading regional corporates. We are delighted to have supported Aldar on this strategically important financing, which further strengthens its capital structure and reinforces its leadership in sustainable real estate development."

The Dentons team was led by partner Stephen Knight, supported by associate Bayan Jafari-Eshaiker.
