Mayor Bowser and Council of the District of Columbia to Host 9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration and Memorial Ceremony

(Washington, DC) - On Friday, September 11 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Council of the District of Columbia will host a commemoration and memorial ceremony to honor the lives lost and impacted by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Mayor Bowser and District leaders will honor the memory of the District residents, DC Public Schools teachers and students, and National Geographic Society members whose lives were lost in the attacks.

The ceremony will pay tribute to the bravery and memory of the first responders who served on that day and since. Members of the Council will present a resolution commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks and leaders will acknowledge the critical role first responders play in protecting the residents and visitors of the District of Columbia.
