President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz following his visit to the command posts of Ukrainian combat brigades and corps.

The Head of State briefed the Chancellor on the situation at the front. The leaders discussed the key steps that could further strengthen Ukraine's defense.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Germany for its support: since the start of the full-scale war, German assistance has saved thousands of Ukrainian lives. Ukraine especially values the supplies of air defense systems, military packages, and support for our resilience.

The President also expressed gratitude to Friedrich Merz for his political backing of opening an export office for Ukrainian weapons in Berlin. Active work on launching the office continues, and the leaders agreed to stay in contact.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz also coordinated their positions on European matters and bilateral relations. The Head of State thanked the Chancellor for his advice and assured him that Ukraine would continue doing everything necessary to strengthen the trust of its partners.
