A Night of Stand Up with C.J. Starr and Friends

Headliner C.J. Starr and some of DFW's most entertaining performers will take the Black Box Theater stage for a great evening of stand-up comedy, as part of the City's Juneteenth Celebration, Saturday, June 20, 8 p.m., Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

C.J. Starr was raised in the Midwest, but his comedy was born in Texas. His comedy continues to take America by storm, making crowds laugh about anything that can happen to a seasoned man trying to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up. He relates to audience as he makes fun of his upbringing, his bi-racial family, kids, grandkids, his tenure at community college, jail time, and bad career choices.

Fonzo Crow II, a Dallas native, is a star on the rise. When he is not performing his high-energy, quick-witted comedy, Crow brings his unique perspective to the stage. His comedy will leave audiences in stitches with stories about fraternity life, married and divorced life, and the challenges of being a father raising step kids. Crow credits his comedic ability to his upbringing in Dallas.

Rogelio Mendoza is an up-and-coming comic quickly making a name for himself. Born and raised in Oak Cliff, Mendoza is no stranger to a fast-paced lifestyle. Raised by his grandparents, with parents who kept life "interesting," Mendoza brings stories about growing up in the hood, bouncing around neighborhoods, family chaos, marriage, and raising kids. With his calm demeanor and unique outlook, Mendoza brings enjoyable comedy to any stage he performs on.
