Beard Awarded Sagamore of the Wabash Award by Governor Holcomb

Taft attorney Amy Beard was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash Award by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb on Jan. 9. The award recognizes Beard for her contributions as Indiana Insurance Commissioner. In this role, she was at the forefront of the insurance sector within the State of Indiana and across the country and oversaw industry's dynamic shift in adapting to issues such as private equity, alternative investments, inflationary and weather changes, ESG, privacy and data security, and machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Beard is senior counsel in Taft's Indianapolis office, leading the firm's insurance regulatory practice. She brings over a decade of public service to the firm and extensive experience in major insurance regulatory matters, including acquisitions and mergers of domestic insurance companies, formation and licensing of insurance companies, health care reform, regulatory practices, insurance policy form and rate filings, insurance company compliance, insurance holding company matters, multi-state examinations, receiverships, and government contracts.
