David Tukhmanov has written over 180 songs, many of which becoming music hits. Victory Day is a beloved piece that has been popular for half a century. The composer has worked with popular artists and bands. He has also created several musicals and operas, and composed soundtracks for many films.

David Tukhmanov is the winner of the 2002 Russian State Prize in Literature and Art and the 2019 Russian State Prize for Outstanding Humanitarian Achievements.
