(Columbus, Ohio) - State Representative Gayle Manning (R-Avon) is pleased to share that Governor DeWine recently announced the Lorain County Sheriff's office was awarded funding through the RecoveryOhio Law Enforcement Fund and the Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund.
"If we want to continue to keep our communities safe, it's vital that we provide the right resources and support to our local sheriffs," said Manning.
The Lorain County Sheriff's Department received the following award amounts:
RecoveryOhio Law Enforcement Fund - $95,000
Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund - $115,597
The General Assembly secured funding for both grants in House Bill 96 - Ohio's State Operating Budget. The program is administered by the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) within the Ohio Department of Public Safety. Both initiatives have awarded over $38 million to law enforcement agencies throughout the state since 2019.
