Exchange Club of Rutherford County names Crow, Moghaddam ‘Officers of the Year’

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (October 22, 2025) - Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) Criminal Investigation Division's Special Investigations Section Detectives Earl Crow and Mark Moghaddam have been named, 'Officers of the Year,' by the Exchange Club of Rutherford County.

Exchange Club of Rutherford County President Melissa Wright presented Crow and Moghaddam with the award at The Exchange Club Luncheon at Through the Grapevine on Broadmor St. on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Crow and Moghaddam were nominated for the award by Sergeant Jacob Fountain for their work in a November 2024 drug-related death that resulted in two second-degree murder indictments. Sixty-two pounds of methamphetamine, six pounds of powder fentanyl, seven firearms, and about $66,000 were seized during the investigation.

"I'm honored to accept this award on behalf of the victims and their families," Crow said. "Justice isn't just about solving cases; it's about restoring dignity to the lives lost and peace to the families left behind."

"I'm deeply honored to receive this recognition. This honor is not mine alone - it belongs to the entire Overdose Unit," Moghaddam said. "The work we do is challenging, and it takes a dedicated team to face it head-on every day."

"We are proud of these detectives for helping to rid our streets of fentanyl and other deadly drugs," Bowen said.
