On December 4, Ambassador Balayan delivered a lecture titled "The Washington Agreements and the Prospects of European Integration"to students specializing in international relations, political science, and European studies at KU Leuven.
Speaking before a full auditorium of students, the Ambassador outlined the August Washington agreements, the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, ongoing initiatives, and key regional infrastructure projects-highlighting in particular the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative-and discussed how these developments relate to Armenia's relations with its neighboring countries.
The Ambassador emphasized the importance of addressing humanitarian issues, noting in this context the urgent need for the return of Armenian hostages.
Highlighting the importance of implementing TRIPP, Ambassador Balayan emphasized that enhanced connectivity and the reopening of transport routes hold for the South Caucasus a significance comparable to that of the Coal and Steel Community in laying the foundations for peace and cooperation in Europe.
After the lecture, students posed questions to Ambassador Tigran Balayan regarding Armenia's foreign policy, cooperation with neighboring countries, regional infrastructure unblocking, and Armenia's European aspirations.
