NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (October 3, 2025) - The City of New Brunswick has installed its second 24-hour Healthcare Kiosk, a high-tech vending machine providing free critical resources for harm reduction and well-being, at the corner of Kirkpatrick and New streets.
The installation, completed this week, makes New Brunswick the first municipality in Middlesex County to operate two such kiosks.
The new kiosk is stocked with 246 items accessible via a touchscreen in both English and Spanish, including Narcan kits for opioid overdoses, wound care kits and fentanyl testing strips. It also dispenses containers for used syringes and informational pamphlets about local services.
The machine is near the front doorway of the Emanuel Lutheran Church space, which is used by the city for its Code Blue and Code Red programs. The New Jersey Harm Reduction Coalition, a New Brunswick-based nonprofit, is responsible for restocking both city kiosks. The other is located at 81 Remsen Ave.
Funding is provided by Middlesex County, using the state's share of a federal settlement with various pharmaceutical companies and distributors. Residents with recommendations for a program or service that would help to address the opioid epidemic are urged to fill out the form by clicking here. This public input window will end on Oct. 31.
