Lane Closure Advisory for the I-285/I-20 East Interchange Project
What: Weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will temporarily close interstate lanes at the locations below for the
I-285/I-20 East Interchange project. The project will reconstruct the interstate system-to-system ramps at the I-285/I-20 East Interchange and add a combination of collector-distributor (CD), or connecting lanes, and auxiliary lanes along I-20 east of the interchange and I-285 north of the interchange.

Where/When: Traffic impacts on the I-285/I-20 Interchange project from Friday, September 19, through Friday, September 26, 2025.

DAYTIME CLOSURES:
Friday, September 19, through Friday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • I-20 Eastbound: Single, right- or left-lane and shoulder closure from Wesley Chapel Road (MM 69.5) to Panola Road (MM 71.3)
  • I-20 Eastbound: Single, right- or left-lane and shoulder closure from Columbia Drive (MM 66.8) to Wesley Chapel Road (MM 69.5)
  • I-20 Eastbound (connecting lanes or CD lanes): Single, right- or left-lane and shoulder closure from I-285 Interchange (MM 67.3) to Wesley Chapel Road (MM 69.5)

Friday, September 19, through Friday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-20 Eastbound (connecting lanes or CD lanes): Single to double, right- or left-lane and shoulder closure from I-285 Interchange (MM 67.3) to Wesley Chapel Road (MM 69.5)
  • I-20 Eastbound: Single to double, right- or left-lane and shoulder closure from Columbia Drive (MM 66.8) to Wesley Chapel Road (MM 69.5)

  • I-285 Northbound: Single to double, left- or right-lanes and shoulder closure from Columbia to interchange

Friday, September 19, through Friday, September 26, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • I-20 Westbound: Single to double, right- or left-lane and shoulder closure from Panola Road (MM 71.3) to Wesley Chapel Road (MM 69.5)
  • I-20 Westbound: Single to double, left-lane closure from Wesley Chapel Road (MM 69.5) to Columbia Drive (MM 66.8)
  • I-20 Westbound: Alternating, single, left- and right-lane and shoulder closure from Panola Road (MM 71.4) to Wesley Chapel Road (MM 68.5)

CLOSURES AND DETOURS:
A temporary closure will be in place on East Wesley Chapel Way from the 1st Place Hotel entrance to the Capital Finance Entrance.
During this time all through traffic should use Snapfinger Woods Drive.The closure will remain in effect through October 8.
