HARRISBURG - Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) announced today the Wyoming County Historical Society has been awarded a $9,000 grant to support daily operations and maintenance involved in preserving the county's historical artifacts.
The funding will help offset essential operating expenses related to the cost of fuel, insurance and advertising for the facility. This will enable them to continue their operations as a crucial nonprofit organization in the community.
"Historical societies are key to public education and to strengthening the bonds that hold our community together," said Pickett. "This investment will help the Wyoming County Historical Society in continuing to operate and provide education to the public."
The grant funding comes from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission through the Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program, which provides general operating support to museums and official county historical societies.
