On 17 February, H.E. Consul General Wang Yu attended the Australia China Business Council (ACBC)New South Wales Chinese New Year Gala and delivered a keynote speech. Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, the Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong, NSW Minister for Industry and Trade, Jason Yat-Sen Li MP, Assistant Speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly, Kellie Sloane MP, Leader of the Opposition of NSW, Dave Sharma, Senator of the Federal Parliament, and Helen Zhi Dent, President of ACBC NSW, also addressed the event. More than 500 representatives from the Australian federal and New South Wales governments, as well as the business community attended the event.
Wang Yu noted that under the strategic guidance of Chinese and Australian leaders, relations between the two countries have returned to a stable and positive development track. China's 15th Five-Year Plan will undoubtedly create more opportunities for China-Australia cooperation. He expressed his expectation that ACBC NSW would continue to serve as a bridge and link, promoting the steady and long-term development of China-Australia economic and trade relations.
The keynote speakers spoke highly of the achievements in economic and trade cooperation between New South Wales and China, and expressed the hope that both sides would continue working together to advance the sustained development of China-Australia economic and trade relations.
