The President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu in her message on the eve of World Tuberculosis Day, which is observed every year on March 24, says:-

"I am happy to know that 'World Tuberculosis Day' is being celebrated on 24th March to raise awareness about the global challenge posed by Tuberculosis (TB).

Tuberculosis continues to pose a significant public health challenge, affecting millions of lives across the world. However, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan has made remarkable progress in expanding early diagnosis, ensuring free treatment, strengthening nutritional support and improving patient care. This progress underscores our shared determination and the strength of the National TB Elimination Programme.

I urge all stakeholders to work together with collective resolve to end tuberculosis once and for all".
