MoDOT to hold public meeting to discuss replacing Loughborough, Weber bridges over I-55

ST. LOUIS - Residents who use the Loughborough Avenue or Weber Road interchanges with Interstate 55 are invited to attend an upcoming open house style public meeting to learn about upcoming projects for the two interchanges.

This meeting will allow the public to share insights, discuss concerns and provide comments, either directly to the engineers or through a survey.

The meeting is Monday, April 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the St. Louis Public Library, Carondelet Branch, 6800 Michigan Avenue, St. Louis MO 63111. This is not a program sponsored by, or affiliated with, the St. Louis Public Library.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold the open house-style public meeting to gather insight from the community for a project starting in 2027 that replaces the bridges that carry Loughborough Avenue and Weber Road over I-55 and modernizes the Loughborough interchange. The city of St. Louis will also share early plans for the replacement of the adjacent Loughborough Avenue bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad, just to the west of the interstate. The Loughborough Avenue bridges are in the city of St. Louis, while the Weber Road bridge spans the border between St. Louis City and St. Louis County.

During the meeting, MoDOT engineers will share their initial ideas for the new bridges and will gather feedback to help guide the development of formal plans to be presented in the fall.

There will be no formal presentation. Participants may attend the meeting at any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
