Why it matters: In 2023 the Fort Worth City Council approved the contract for the land purchase for a new, larger Station 16 on the west side of the City for a total cost of $2.27 million. The station is being relocated to the northeast corner of Lovell Avenue and Horne Street, less than a half-mile from its current location at 5933 Geddes St. The old station is set to be demolished and the new station will open in early 2026.
