London-Dentons has advised the lenders, Rabobank and Santander UK, on an £80 million senior debt package for the 45 MW Carno 3 wind farm in North Wales.
The wind farm has been developed by Gresham House, a specialist alternative asset manager, and Amegni Renewables Ltd, an independent wind energy developer.
The project is being delivered through Carno 3 LLP, a joint venture established by Gresham House and Amegni Renewables, and the financing provided by the lenders will support the construction of the scheme through to completion, expected to be in autumn next year.
Carno 3 is set to be one of the largest onshore wind farms in Wales, generating enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of around 46,000 homes.
Mark Cheney commented: "We are delighted to have advised the lenders on the financing of this energy transition project and to see the project reach financial close."
The team at Dentons was led by Mark Cheney, supported by Graham Richmond, Thomas Collier, Alec Cameron, Emma Aitken, Madeleine Smallwood, Gavin Patridge, Melanie Blanchard, Daniel Mayhew and Casey Asamoh-Ansah.
