State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee representative election, April 27

On Monday, April 27, 2026, Civil Service staff will participate in a special election of a new member to the State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee to the Merit Board of the State Universities Civil Service System. This newly elected member will serve the remainder of the current term as well as the next term, which ends on December 31, 2029.

Individuals interested in becoming a candidate to fill this unexpected vacancy can pick up a Petition for Candidacy and a Statement of Candidacy beginning Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 8 a.m., in the Human Resources office, Nelson Smith Building 101. The deadline to file the completed forms is Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

To be eligible for nomination and election to membership, a Civil Service employee must:

• be a certified status employee at Illinois State, and
• have at least three years of consecutive Civil Service employment at Illinois State or at any other Illinois institution served by the State Universities Civil Service System.
