Official City Statement: City of West Hollywood Affirms Commitment to Public Safety Following Recent Incidents

Recent incidents of violence in West Hollywood over the past week have caused concern, fear, and distress among residents, businesses, and visitors. West Hollywood is a compassionate and engaged community, and news of these events, including two shootings and two fights in the City's Rainbow District, is deeply unsettling.

The City of West Hollywood wants the community to know that these concerns are heard and taken seriously. The West Hollywood City Council, City Manager, and Community Safety team are working diligently to support the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in fully investigating each incident. Detectives from the West Hollywood Station are actively investigating these cases and additional patrols are being conducted by Sheriff's Deputies and Security Ambassadors.

Public safety remains the City of West Hollywood's top priority. The City unequivocally denounces all forms of violence. These acts are not reflective of our community's values, and we maintain a zero-tolerance stance toward threats to public safety.

We also recognize the emotional impact these incidents have on our community. The City urges those in need of support to reach out to Maple Counseling, where clinical staff are available to provide free counseling services to people who live, work, or attend school in West Hollywood.
