Boyle Statement on War Powers Resolution Vote

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) issued the following statement after voting in favor of a War Powers Resolution that would block further military action against Iran:

"I voted for this War Powers Resolution because President Trump is plungingus into another costlywar in the Middle East without clear objectives, with a rationale that keeps shifting, and without an exit strategy. I will not support a half-baked planthat puts Americans in harm's way and asks our service members to pay the price.

Make no mistake. The Iranian regime is evil and it poses a threat. But spending billions of dollars on another war is not the best way to neutralize this threat.

The American people don't want billions of dollars spent on an unnecessary war. They want lower costs and affordable health care.

I continue to pray for the safety of our brave troops serving in the region."
