Essex is invited to a free screening of a powerful film and discussion exploring what climate change could mean for the county's communities.
The University of Essex-hosted event will feature The People's Emergency Briefing.
This film brings together evidence from leading British experts on the risks that climate change and nature loss pose to everyday life, including food security, health, the economy and national security.
The 15 June Colchester Campus screening forms part of a nationwide drive designed to take the latest climate evidence beyond Westminster and into local communities.
Hosted by the University's Centre for Environment and Society (CES), it will be followed by a discussion on what the challenges and opportunities of climate change mean for Essex and how communities, organisations and policymakers can respond.
Dr Ellisif Wasmuth, Co-director of the CES, said: "Many people know climate change is happening, but fewer have had the opportunity to hear directly from experts about what it could mean for everyday life, from food and energy security to health and local infrastructure.
"The People's Emergency Briefing aims to bridge that gap by making the evidence accessible and encouraging meaningful discussion.
"We hope people leave with a better understanding of the challenges ahead and a greater sense of how communities can respond together."
The film is based on a major National Emergency Briefing delivered to decision-makers in Westminster, bringing together expert analysis on the climate and nature crisis and its implications for the UK.
Screenings are now taking place across the country to encourage informed public discussion and local action.
It will take place from 1pm to 3pm in lecture hall 5.300A+B, off square 2.
It will be clearly signposted and is open to members of the University community, local politicians and the wider public.
