Ranked Choice Voting offers a pathway to better representation for our communities and constituent groups. It opens our ballot to parties and candidates with policies that are often weighted more toward serving constituents and less toward partisan political goals.
The City of Newark, Delaware is one of the latest municipalities to consider adopting Ranked Choice Voting.
As mentioned in this article:
- One benefit is to encourage civil campaigning.
- One detriment is that voters would need to be shown how to complete their new ballot.
